Pornes: A Bold, Unapologetic Display Font
Where Restraint Is Non-Negotiable
- Body copy or long-form web text — readability collapses past 18pt in paragraph settings
- UI buttons or micro-interactions — too much visual weight, too little functional flexibility
- Multi-line headlines in tight containers (e.g., mobile app banners)
- Brands aiming for approachability-first messaging — it reads decisive, not gentle
- Projects requiring extensive language support — check glyph coverage before committing
Designer Notes You’ll Actually Use
- Test in black and white first. Pornes gains strength without color — if it falters there, it’ll falter everywhere.
- Check small-size readability on real devices: render it at 16px on a phone screen. If the “a”, “e”, or “g” lose shape, don’t use it below 28pt.
- Mock it up early. Drop it into your actual packaging dieline or website header — not just a blank artboard. See how it breathes (or doesn’t) with your imagery and whitespace.
- Compare cases deliberately. Uppercase Pornes commands attention; lowercase has quieter nuance. Don’t assume one works where the other fails.
- Review spacing — especially tracking. Default kerning is solid, but tighten tracking slightly for all-caps logos, loosen for large display quotes.
- Pair it thoughtfully. Try it beside a sturdy serif (like Merriweather), a neutral sans (Inter or Poppins), a relaxed script (Caveat), and another display font (just to confirm it stands apart).
- Verify commercial licensing. This is a commercial font — confirm usage rights cover client deliverables, digital products, and resale items like printables or Canva templates before you pitch it.
